Mid-week Encouragement: Imagination

“We are told never to cross a bridge until we come to it, but this world is owned by those who have ‘crossed bridges’ in their imagination far ahead of the crowd.”

5-29-13 Brooklyn Bridge fixedLast Friday, May 24, marked the 130th anniversary of the Brooklyn Bridge. This photograph is nothing new; there have likely been thousands of photographs of this landmark. Summer 2010 was the first time I walked across it, though I had been to NYC about a dozen times before. I’m all about the journey and not just the end-game. (Well, I say I am. Reality dictates regular requests to fast-forward through some situations. But ultimately, I know the journey holds more lessons than the conclusion of said journey).

This quote is a wonderful way to think about imagination, dreaming and doing. A learned skill, for sure.

Happy Wednesday!
