Hitting the road to the tunes of… [24-day Road Trip starts TODAY!]

Hello from the road!

Today we embark on a 24-day trek from North Carolina to Denver, Colorado, and back. Thanks to our friends and family who are participating to make this possible (and super fun!) – J&M for house-sitting, and our loved ones in GA, AL, TX, OK, CO, OH, PA, and TN (!!) who will be lending their couches, air mattresses, spare beds, and laundry facilities.

We’ll be hitting the road after church, to the tunes of:

Cruise – Florida Georgia Line ft. Nelly

Wide Open – Sugarland

Barefoot Blue Jean Night – Jake Owen

Lover of the Light – Mumford & Sons

Heads Carolina, Tails California – Jo Dee Messina

Angels & Airwaves – The Adventure

The Words I Would Say – Sidewalk Prophets

Desert Song – Hillsong

Payphone – Maroon 5

(Explicit version, though we will be singing to the radio version)

The Fighter – Gym Class Heroes ft. Ryan Tedder

Dirt Road Anthem – Jason Aldean

Let It Be – sung by Terry McDermott

I’ll likely be posting all along the way… in between the dashboard drumming, out-the-window picture taking, state park visiting, bike riding, friends and family time-spending, and all-around road trip adventures!

  1. Have fun! I moved to the Denver area from Wilmington about six months ago and it was an incredible drive! I’m not sure which route you’re taking, but as a book lover you should definitely take a 30 minute detour and at least drive by the Kansas City Library! The entire building is made up of book spines and the entrance’s steps are books. It is so neat! Actually, it might just be easier to see the cool stuff here! I also recommend Abilene, KS 🙂

    • Hello! Thank you so much for the suggestion! Definitely keeping that in mind… I am pretty sure we are going through Kansas City at one point. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
