A new way of seeing your strangers and your enemies (featuring Jewel & The Who)

A challenge for you as we begin a new season…

There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. — Galations 3:28

“You was the onlyest person that looked past my skin and past my meanness and saw that there was somebody on the inside worth savin…We all has more in common than we think. You stood up with courage and faced me when I was dangerous, and it changed my life. You loved me for who I was on the inside, the person God meant for me to be, the one that had just gotten lost for a while on some ugly roads in life.” ― Ron Hall, Same Kind of Different as Me

I challenge you to look one person in the eye today. Either someone with whom you’ve never interacted, or someone who usually gets your goat. Look at them differently today. See the brokenness and sameness underneath whatever masks he or she is wearing. And for one day, one moment even, treat them with unexpected kindness.
